A List of the 59 US National Parks

A Project | National Parks | United States

“The establishment of the National Park Service is justified by considerations of good administration, of the value of natural beauty as a National asset, and of the effectiveness of outdoor life and recreation in the production of good citizenship.”  – Theodore Roosevelt

I remember sitting in my elementary school history class,  I don’t remember what grade exactly, and learning about Theodore Roosevelt’s many accomplishments during his presidency.  One of them Roosevelt’s gifts to the US was the establishments of National Parks.  At the time, I didn’t understand the significance of this act.

Fast forward to my post college trip to Europe,  some of the people would ask me, how many states I’ve been or how many national parks I’ve been to.  It didn’t occur to me that foreigners were aware of our National Park System.  I didn’t even no much about it or really cared about them.

But as I’ve gotten older, wanting to see more of the world and enjoying the outdoors, I wanted to visited all the National Parks.

So, one of my projects is to visit all 59 of the United States National Parks.

The great outdoors, here I come! #optoutside Click To Tweet
